Silk Road Theatre Project showcases playwrights of Asian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean backgrounds, whose works address themes relevant to the peoples of the Silk Road and their Diaspora communities. Through the creation and presentation of outstanding theatre, we aim to promote discourse and dialogue among multi-cultural audiences in Chicago.

Set in 17th century Rome, Malta, and Naples, Caravaggio is the story of the great Italian painter Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, the father of the Baoque, whose daring art and volatile personality attracted the favor and wrath of the church he both loved and reviled.

John Morrison, is one of the first persons to offer insight and encouragement in the earliest days of the development of Youand. I just learned that he is working on this production of Caravaggio at The Silk Road Theater Project, a company whose mission can only enhance mutual understanding in our world.
