YOU AND YOUAND (cont.)

YOU: I got into a big argument with a good friend Eunice last night.

YOUAND: What happened?

YOU: We were talking about politics and another friend, Hubert, asked me why I thought our country is in so much trouble. I began to answer and Eunice interrupted and began talking about her opinion about how the country is not so bad off.

YOUAND: And what did you do?

YOU: Well, I began to argue with her about her opinion. And she got very angry and started storming around the house screaming and shouting.

YOUAND: How did you respond to that?

YOU: I continued to give my answer to the original question that was asked. But there was a tension in the air. And it felt really bad. Now, I don't know if I want to risk having any kind of discussion about opinions with Eunice again.

YOUAND: How do you feel about about the whole thing?

YOU: I feel very sad, because Eunice and I are such good friends, and this sense of separationn feels very awkward and, well like I said, "sad." I feel sad.

YOUAND: Do you know why you feel so sad?
